Our frogs are EVIL.
Touching their skin can kill you. Very quickly. :P

And no, we don't lack poisonous snakes, fish, plants and frogs, alligators, pirhanas and baseball-sized cockaroaches down here.

Deaths Ally is right.

Come here, and pray you don't step on an Eastern Coastal Taipan, or a Death Adder, or a King Brown snake. They are nasty. And redback spiders? They are childs-play in comparison to some of the other spiders out here. Redbacks only kill the very young or old. Usually you just get sick for like, 4 days. Feels like you have the flu. My stepmum got bitten by one a few years back, didn't even notice.

Americas wildlife has nothing on Australias.

Why is thre some competiton about who has the most deadly shit? If you think it is not really so great to be a tough and say "look I'm more likely to die by my surroundings than you are so I must more hardcore."
1. You didn't choose to live in Australia and if you did it certainly wasn't because of the deadly wildlife and
2. I am from Australia and know as well as you that it is not some huge problem in built up areas. Like kangaroos through the windscreen not much deadly creature shit goes down where people can be found. Yes there are exceptions but not enough to boast that we live in some Steve Irwin world of death. I haven't even seen any of deadly creatures metioned here except the red back and it is not a particularly ferocious creature.

I stay away from Oxford St and avoid the man hunting trouser snakes.

Did you know the death adder, Eastern Coastal Taipan and King Brown (all "outback" snakes) are really quite common in rural and urban environments?

[sarcasm]
Oh, but its not some huge problem in built up areas. You wouldn't have to worry about performing building maintenance in the city and getting attacked by a brood of funnel web spiders, or the odd nest of snakes now would you?

[/end sarcasm]
