Yes it is, here is the basic story of the 2nd movie. Dunno if it's a spoiler or not.

The new BR is: a class gets picked and instead of killing each other like in the first movie, they are sent off to kill Shuya(survivor of 1st movie) and the mebers of Wild Seven(a gang he formed). The students are in teams of 2 and if your partner dies, you die. So they go out and try and kill Shuya and his gang.
