FLCL is art. Art has a beautiful quality of being ambiguous enough for anyone to be able to draw their own conclusions and find their own meanings in it. Try it. It's cool.

Ok, i took this wuote from a thread about 4 pages back. I've been thinking about that last paragraph for a while too, and now i ask the question of what do you think FLCL means to you?

To me, FLCL means no matter how good, how amazing things get there will always be a time where you will fall from your seat of glory and land back in the dirt and common every day drudgery that is life.

*Spoilers*

Think about it, Naota had it all, he even had a chance to leave with Haruko, but he didn't, he got cut off, and stuck behind, maimi left to become a photographer, all he had was Ninaromi and his two jack ass friends Gaku and that other ass wiht the big lips ... if you ask me thats shit compared to what he had, and could have had.

well thats my 2 cents about what FLCL means to me. Now, thts just it's personal meaning to me, just because i think that way dosn' tmean you have to ... I never told you to ... nor do i wan't more people on this planet that think like me ... that would just be terribly wrong.

Considering the Japanese title is Furi Kuri, I have always assumed that it was based on the intensely hot curry that they consume. Im still a little upset that they call it Fooly Cooly. But I can understand why, the japanese R sounds like the american L, so it does sound like Fooly Cooly, but its Furi Kuri.

Check the magazine in the last episode.

The title of the picture of Naota with the guitar is "Fooly Cooly"

I think the intention was that the series be called Fooly Cooly, but it's not really possible to make that exact sound in Japanese, so hence the ambiguity.

Plus, GAiNAX are always happy to increase ambiguity with their series, so they have instances of 'Fooly Cooly', 'FLCL' and 'Furi Kuri' all three in the series. Any of them is a valid name that'll get people to know what you're talking about.

not exactaly ... it took the guys at the comic shop where i live a while to figure out that FLCL ment Fooly Cooly. Then Chris, the Video guy came out of the back and kindly pointed out that the guy behind teh register knew fuck all about what he was talking about (since he was saying that it problaby hasnt been released in america yet) and pointed to Volume 1 and 2 that were sitting on the shelf.
