Those don't worry me. It's when people start looking at trombones that I'll get worried...
Valve or slide? :D

My preference is valve, but then I'm more of a baritone player than a trombone player (thought I can play both). But you can really scream on a V-bone, and get a much sharper tone than any marching baritone. Plus it confuses the hell out of most people when they see it, which scores it bonus points in my book.

But for the effects- slide, definitely. 8)

No... though I think I have seen bands march electric keyboards before with small amps. Normally they're just used in a pit for a field show, though.

Yes, it seems piano key effects are being used alot. I am guilty of doing it as well. But i made a conscious decision to not match key strokes as I had access to the necessary equipment, just thought that the randomness was what suited the particular part. Oh well, guess you can't please everyone.

Yes, he did!
Actually he didn't.

Well... he wanted to, but (as any pianist would be able to spot right away) the song uses plenty of black keys which just aren't as aetshetically pleasing for the concept. He did look up the real notes but fudged it to make it simpler to watch, which is fine - just don't go using the video to try and play the song :)

Ian's right. I've taken piano for years (well as a child) and right off the bat I knew that. Doesn't subtract from the concept though.

Small tidbit on my own video. Within "Evolution" the keys I displayed and their relative locations I used are accurate notes. I played the beginning melody on a keyboard and assuming the key of C, and that the first note's location is the C above middle C, all the remaining notes are accurate.

In conclusion, I am a big dork.

Yup. It's still one of my favorite effects.

... but we already knew that.

(that is rather neat though, I hadn't noticed that)

Yup, if you have a keyboard, start at the C above middle C and follow the locations within the video and you too can play the melody of Ayumi's "Evolution"...and be a dork too.
