Excuse me, I'm new here, and...
I'm actually pretty new to the whole AMV genre. I just saw my first one about a month ago, and I've been interested in them since then. How do I go about viewing some here? Are there any sites that are recommended for me to begin viewing and maybe even learning about AMV's? Any help would be appreciated. Sucks to be a newbie...

Welcome to the Org. You can view videos by using the Search feature of the web site. Type in some information, such as song artist and anime, and then perform a search to find quite a few vids. You can add as much information as you need to specify your search even further. Some of these videos may be available for download and some may not. To find out, click on the video's title and scroll down to find any available links under Downloads. They are either Direct, Indirect, Local, or No. The first three might work and the last one obviously does not. Right-click on Direct to save the video onto your hard drive, click Indirect to access a seperate web site in which you can find the video (usually not a problem), and click Local to also download the vid. Local links may not work for you if you just joined the Org, and you must wait about two weeks before downloading (Locally, that is). But Direct and Indirect links are still available for you.
Another way to watch videos, especially if you have some favorite creators, is to search through the AMV Announcements forum. Many people post information about their new videos there, and they usually provide links to their vids. If not, you may have to search for their vids using the Search function again.
And yeah, you can learn some stuff about AMVs and making them by reading the guides.

go to the members main page, click on Top 10% Videos and download some. These are some of the best available on this site. Not all are available for download now, but many are. Viewing these is a good way for a newcomer to start. Learn what you like, what you don't. See video editing at its finest in some of these. Then, search the videos using the site search engine to look for specific songs or anime shows which you want to see a video to. There are lots of videos out there- some very, very good, others total crap done by someone with no experience and poor techniques. Read the guides section on how to do amv's if you so desire, but view many before you try to think of an idea for a video. And always search the videos to make sure that your idea hasn't been done before. These are fun to make but take a LOT of time to do well. Good luck.
Oh, P.S., I think I'll do some selfish self-promotion here and recommend my latest video (and video #2 for me). I viewed well over a hundred of amv's before attempting my first video by the way.
Also, under the guides section, check out Phade's required video viewing.
