A reliable source of cheap computers.

Post by danielwang » Sun Jul 27, 2003 9:09 pm

Has anyone here ever tried to resurrect older b0xes they've found at thrifte stores, yard sales, and 2600-style Dumpster Diving (aka Drive By Dustbin Looting)?

I'm trying to find my old Win95 CDs, as the DotNetGundam crap gives me a STOP error 0x7b when I start it up (Support says this is a bootloader issue). Maybe it's a sign I should just forget it and install Debian.

My dad does it all the time.

My old computer was built entirely out of crap parts, and he somehow made them work for a 256Mhz computer. Of course, it sucked, but it still worked well enough to fuck around on MSPaint.

My first computer was 75Mhz, and it still works. I also have a few 386s as well, though those don't boot up.

I'm installing Slackware by floppy now, as the other methods are futile so far.

If this is the first time this error has occured, reboot and hope it doesn't happen again. If this error persists, wiggle the drive cables, scan for viruses, get put on hold by tech support, and/or buy a better computer.
