Who is your fav artist who went insane?
I mean who literly was insane not just odd, truly insane. My fav is Sid Barret, the original singer of Pink Floyd. He was put away into a mental hospital in England. I think he is dead now?

Varg Vikernes.
No insanity verdict was ever given, but you don't go from making five of the best black metal albums of all time to murdering one of your best friends, becoming a Nazi, and releasing two CDs of amateur Casio-keyboard crap without popping a screw loose.
Jon Nodtveit is probably a close second. The liner notes for _Live Legacy_ are messed way the hell up, and he also had a jailhouse boring-music project, but at least he didn't try to pass it off as genuine Dissection. And I wouldn't call the murder he was convicted of crazy, as with Varg. Stupid, racist, and probably piss-drunk, yes, but not crazy.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

Yep. Any band where this was the most normal person, you know you're in trouble.
Alice Cooper spent some time in the loony bin too, so I'll go with him.[/url]

I dont know if its really considered insane.. but he got really wacky before he killed himself Was Ian from Joy Division. He was only almost 24.. He couldnt handle pressure, and he was ill.. and just became a total mess before he hung himself.. Why do I consider this insane, because its been said that He had a " morbid desire to emulate those of his heroes who had died young." Thats insane.
And he really screwed up the band emotionally after that, New Order changed.. new band, new direction new start I know.. but I guess in like 93 i saw them in concert.. They couldve had a bad night.. maybe.. but New Order is Dancy.. fun... and the show was a total bum fest..... they were like Hi.... played music.. very almost robotic like and no feeling no expression, and then goodnight.. no crowd interaction, nothing.. it was sad...

I wouldn't call Ian Curtis insane, just severely depressed. But yeah, New Order, founded from the remnants of Joy Division, was a totally different sort of band. Love will tear us apart, indeed.tutterbutter wrote:I dont know if its really considered insane.. but he got really wacky before he killed himself Was Ian from Joy Division.
