DivX player...... not working..... HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Post by youkokitsune106 » Thu Jul 24, 2003 1:36 pm

ok.... I have a DivX player on my computer, downloaded from divx.com. It's version 2.1 and evey component of it is installed.

My friend brought over dics with .avi files on them and most of them are supposed to work well on divX. However, my divx doesn't work...... :(

I've reinstalled it about 3 times and it still won't work so..... I'm stuck with anime that i can't watch and i'm getting frustrated......

If anyone has any idea how to fix my Divx i would be most grateful. ^^

(friend whines in the corner: It's Gravitation....... >.< )

dump DivX. OVer all ti a pretty crappy program. The only reason I downloaded it at all was so I could get it codex for Windows Media player. Uses wither WinDVD or Windows Media player 9.0 (that what Use and it works very well)

You need the divx codec to play back divx content. Go here http://www.divx.com/divx/ and get the blue divx thing on the right.

Maybe it's the Gator or spyware they put on your computer.

Yeah.... i downloaded the codec for WMP but it didn't really work that well. It allowed the vid to play on WMP but it was really slow and the images moved slower than the sounds.

As i said before i have the divx codec and i have gotten most of the stuff from the divx site. The problem is my Divx won't even open. I click on the icon and the blue divx sign pops up and then there's an error code. T_T I hate my computer.......

Thanks for the feedback. I'm gonna keep trying. If it doesn't work out then...... my dad is going to be tied to a chair watching pokemon until he buys me a new computer.

*sigh* compy's suck..... (at least all of mine do..... -_-() )

Your computer doesn't have the processing power to decode Divx well. Stick with Mpeg, RM, QT, and WM. Stay away from Divx and Xvid.

If they are encoded with Divx or Xvid, you probably can't.
