I read one or two of those and they seemed barely differant. Of course, it was the prisim laser cannon angel thing, so maybe there wasn't much room for improvement. Just action stuff.

I've read upto book six right now, and it's lots different.

Eventhough Shinji is still the familiar "I don't give a fuck and it's okay if I die because i don't give a fuck" person, he actually has a bit of a spine, which makes for good comedy relief at times. Asuka is still bitchy, but in a funny way. And Rei is just weird and OMG OMG THEY ACTUALY SHOW REIS NAKED BDOY AND DOTN CENSOR IT LIEK IN TEH AMINE at that moment in her apartment and all.
Maybe I should make scans.

Anyone else read the manga?

I've read up to vol 7. It's a great manga, both art & storywise, and it differs a lot from the anime at times. Still, I'd say the anime is better. You dont get the same impact without the music etc. Same can be said about bebop, exept the bebop manga suck to high heaven. It's gonna be interesting how the Eva manga will approach the last 2 eps/EoE.. how can that be presented as manga..

I remember someone saying that the bebop manga was made after the anime, maybe this is why it differs to the suckage side?

i read the graphic novel of Spirited Away (made from the movie)
i think it suked way to badly, it just showed every slight movement that anyone/anything made
it made it seem kinda compact to me, gave me a headache
i only read it cause i saw the movie and wanted to see if it was as good...sadly it was not

on the other hand, i picked up an eva manga and read it...very nice work, supoib!
i noticed slight changes right from the beginning, the whole Rei fighting inside of Unit 02 against the 3rd angel and all!
i think the last two episodes should turn out pretty bad-ass if u ask me, all they need to show is a bunch of pics like they should in the anime
(didn't the manga come first anyway already)
