Now, back to the topic at hand....yes...at hand.....ANYWAYS the results of the study does make some perverted sense in a way. This is comming mainly from the fact that male ejaculate is composed of several different fluid components, all made locally in the male reproductive tract. The vast majority of male ejaculate, volume-wise, is not sperm but a protein soup consisting of sugars such as fructose (i think) and various alkali substances to raise the pH of the female vagina to a friendlier level (the female vagina is generally acidic btw, which keeps out all but the most aciduric (acid resistant) microbes). Now the male prostate gland is responsible for producing some of these substances, although I'm not entirely sure which one (i think its the sugars and alkali/basic stuff, but then again I dont feel like looking it up). The basic rationale behind this study is that everytime you ejaculate, the prostate exerts itself by secreting out all the "fruits of its labors" which basically rids the gland of any excess carcinogens that have been building up ever since the last ejaculation, as pointed out in the study. Basically more masturbation/sexual activity = less build up and therefore = less risk of developing prostate cancer. This is an interesting development....I wonder though, if male porn stars have a lower risk of prostate cancer as well?
