The prostitutes on Brussels' Rue de Matheus operate day and night.

They and other sex workers in the red light districts of Belgium's larger cities languish in legal uncertainty and amid varying degrees of toleration.

Belgian legislators are hoping to bring that to a close with a parliamentary bill that would draw prostitutes into the legal fold and bring the industry under state control, providing sex workers with labour rights and greater health protection.

I WISH America did that.

Legalized prostitution would be:

Safer for the prostitutes (no violent, slaver pimp and no serial killers/rapists, among other dangers)

Safer for the customers (no pimp, no chance of being robbed by a prostitute, disease can be kept in check)

Safer for public health (prostitutes can be checked for STDs, there's a "trail" if disease occurs)

Safer for the community (brothels can be located out of town, less criminal activity)

Good for the tax coffers.

Besides the questionable "degradation and objectification of women as just sex toys", which already exists for many women (and men), and in far more dangerous circumstances, I fail to see why prostitution is illegal, besides some lame "think of the children!" and "think of OUR morals!" types freaking out.

Organized religion (no matter what it is) is a bad thing, it puts ideas (sometimes dangerous ones) into peoples heads, tells them to go out and convert/recruit other people, wants your time, money, family, life, war, mind control, force morals onto others and leads to being a hypocrite.
There is no true freedom of religion when there are so many different ones in competition for the worlds population.
I have my own beliefs, I dont tell anyone about them unless they ask. I dont try to convert them to my way of thinking or morals and I DO NOT like it when they try to convert me to thier belief system.
