Not a horrific job, but to make it more convincing they should've used a lighter color of fabric, at least glued (or preferably sewn) same fabric to the top of the footwear, made integrated "mittens" for the hands, and glued or sewn thin black strips of felt up and down the body for the cactus like indents (or done a ghetto rigged Sharpie job, at least).

OK, that is a horribly done cactuar, on second thought.
