.hack: Altimit is UNIX, you Bandai idiots!

Here is the letter I send Bandai:
wangd1@asme.org wrote:Bandai;

I recently downloaded one of your ".hack/SIGN" desktop backgrounds at dothack.com (dedicated site). It can be noted that in the background of each desktop wallpaper the string "c:\tsukasa" is visible.

I would like to mention that, according to sources, ALTIMIT ("The World" in .hack/SIGN) is a Unix-based operating system. References include the Apple Pro Mouse in the opening,".hackers file" concept, and the ".hack" title (files beginning with a period are hidden).
Additionally, many also have speculated on the letters "MIT" in "ALTIMIT".

As the prompt syntax "c;" originates from a Windows block object (\\?\Volume{}), it is out of place. Any unix user knows that directory prompts (PS1) are usually in the form \u@\h:\w\$. Additionally, user's home directories are preceded with a ~.

Besides, those Photoshopped patterns are too artificial, as with the meaningless zeroes, ones, and words in the background (Discbox, promotional materials). Hexadecimal would have been more impressive.

Cheers,
Daniel Wang

Do you concur or differ?
I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Oh, and despite the horrible Mac references in .hack/SIGN, I don't believe Altimit is an Apploe product. BSD is too full of security holes to be resistant to viruses, as you can easily see.

I was just about to fix it.
But now, I'm tempted to set up an IP filtering scheme so that the avatar EarthCurrent sees is always a big one, regular users see a 80x80 one.
Wouldn't that be fun?

#define avatar=ipimg(a)
void ipimg(a); {
request.header.client.ip = clientip;
result = net.dns.lookup(clientip & ".in-addr.arpa");
if result inContains [EarthCurrentDNSName] {
reply.data | ExtremelyBigAndOffensiveAvatar.bmp ;
} else reply.data | AvatarForOtherPeople.jpg ; } return 0; end sub }

Sort of like http://www.ndk.cc/cgi-local/rand_ndk_image.pl
except with IP filtering tables.

That's actually two triangles...and together they form a quadrilateral called a kite, which is defined by its two pairs of equal adjacent sides
