Is the export supposed to look like this???

I accidentally forgot to turn off exporting the audio and video at the same time, with all of the necessary changes made as the guide said to do, yet, it looked sorta....crap

.... it was not as smooth as when i exported it before... but i haven't compressed yet and i'm about to fix that problem now..but is it supposed to look like that before i compress it?

will my work by okay?

or....is it going to look the same as when i exported it?

you exported as huffy from premiere?
and it looks bad?
huffy is gonna look better then after you compress it
so something is fucked up

Yeah.....i think something is screwed up, personally...but ...hmmm

it's compressor is huffy ...why would it do that now? did i set the ...export settings wierd or something??? cause i followed the guide....THE GUIDE

Ok ok...so it just came out... and it's still the same kind of quality.
it's still sorta boxy... and sluggish..... and seems like it 's trying to blend in into the next frame with horizontal lines...do you know what i mean?

i think i might have to reset the export settings again.
augh! so tiresome!
help! does anyone know what's going on here?

one more thing, is it supposed to look like that before i put it into virtual dubb and start filtering and sharpening and so on and on?

It sounds like Premiere is interlacing your output,

Under Settings-->Keyframe and Rendering, make sure the Fields pulldown menu is set to "No Fields", and check the frame rate under General to make sure it's the same as what you edited in, most likely 24 or 29.97 fps.

I also suggest making sure you have the checkbox "always suggest RGB for output" checked in the huff configuration, to avoid any unnecessary colorspace conversions. undder the video export menu, click the configuration box, and check that box I mentioned.

I'm afraid that has already been done ^^; i've done everything... the only thing is that might have effected it is if i changed the "no frame" from "lower frame first"
or
the pixel aspect ratio
from D1/DV NTSC (0.9) to "square pixels (1.0)"

is the original source interlaced?

Depending on what your preview settings are, the outputted video may well not look exactly like what the preview looks like in Premiere.... I use an MJPEG codec for my preview codec, and it doesn't look nearly as good as the HufYUV output does. Also, if you're using the guides, you're likely doing the 'bait-and-switch' method of editing, using MJPEG files to edit and then swapping in the full-quality .avs file- have you switched the files properly?

Your output won't look any better than your source footage- but if you're outputting using HuffYUV, it really shouldn't look much (if any at all) worse.

Congratulations, you've just discovered the wonderful evil that is interlacing.

If your source footage looks like that, then you need to IVTC or deinterlace (IVTCis vastly preferable). Otherwise, you need to make sure that you've selected "no fields". If your source is clean and Premiere is interlacing your video when you tell it not to, then your computer has become posessed by Satan and must be melted down.

Also, if you're exporting in HuffYUV or with no compression at all, then that explains the choppiness... most computers can't play back huffies or uncompressed video without chopping a little (and you shouldn't be watching those files anyway, since they exist solely to be put into VirtualDub, converted into something smaller, and deleted)

As for the macroblocking, well, that just plain shouldn't happen with huffies or uncompressed video. Again, posessed by Satan, melt down, etc.
