I HAVE COME WITH A THEORY!!!!! *thunder and lightning in the background*
*In twilight Zone voice* Imagine if you will, one anime distribution company decides that they need to make more profits. In response to this need they decide to allow Cartoon Network to butcher their anime. With this new development people hate CN and decide to buy the dvds of the anime, increasing the companies profits. A win / win situation if you will.
*cough*
Anyways thats my theory.

They're not as mature as us... I've been there too and seen what you're talking about. Those are the kind of people I can't stand. Most of those folks are kids that would do the same thing with Courage the Cowardly Dog and they only watch AS because it makes them feel grown up to stay up late and watch the cool stuff with the blood and the damns. I ignore the idiots and come here most of the time; they embarass me.

Amen! Y'see *this* is the ideal situation for anime on TV. You've just instilled (a small amount of) faith in me about anime on TV. Y'see, idealy (for me), people would watch a show on Cartoon Network, like it, go buy it (key here) and watch it uncut (and preferably subtitled).Shun wrote:I stopped warching toonami, man what a bunch of crap. I very very very rarely even watch adult swim now after buying kenshin. Honestly i believe Toonami dont know that they are showing anime. Its the best "action cartoons". It gets old seeing dubs now so im pretty much down to buying dvds on recomended anime, which worked out very well with rurouni kenshin.
So thanks for making me feel better

Well you know my feelings on buying past the Kyoto arc (as seen in other threads)....I hope you are enjoying itSatomi wrote:I've given up on Kenshin also. I'm sick of seeing it in an untrue version. I just went out and bought the DVD's. I've got up to DVD #14. I'm almost done with the series and very pissed at CN for their merciless edits.

I never really could get into Kenshin (although I really liked the OVA). (Please don't kill me!)
But anyway, Adult Swim does make me happy about one thing . . . I'm hooked to Lupin III now. I had never seen it before and didn't know much about it but now I'm lovin' it!

Well, I don't know if it's like this with everyone, but as for me - once I got into watching real uncut anime on DVD and fansubs, I just gave up on TV completely and cancelled my cable subscription. Who knows, if I'm not the only one doing that, maybe it'll eventually come to the point that networks realize that they're losing actually their anime audience... maybe not.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I wish I could cut cable, but Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" is the only TV show I watch religiously. In fact..it's the only TV i watch...sad...Otohiko wrote:Well, I don't know if it's like this with everyone, but as for me - once I got into watching real uncut anime on DVD and fansubs, I just gave up on TV completely and cancelled my cable subscription. I'm still wondering if anime could still be butchered up even more...
/end thought
i can't wait till the newer anime generation grows old enough to get elected into the gov't, especially, the type of ppl mentioned from AS forums.
/end thought
and yeah, i wish they're were more ppl in congress who had an interest in "true" anime.
