want to make hour long AMV!!!

Post by Lavondyss » Wed Jul 09, 2003 3:27 am

I'm fairly new to anime, but I have high hopes and big goals.

I wanna make some hour long AMVs to show at anime clubs and conventions. I know it is possible. It could be "Mission Improbable 3!" or "The Neverending AMV". ^_^

With a little effort and a good team, we can do it. I have hour+ long techno/dance/rave mixes I'd like to try out. If we succeed, we can work on "The Neverending AMV 2".

It would be a huge project, but I think that it would really open the public's eyes to anime.

What does everyone think??

if no one really wants to help out, then I'll have a try at it myself and see how far I can go before I scrap the project. hehehe ^_^

Might be a bit hard. There are a number of multi-user project already going on and a number already in the works. I fear that the burn out is going to be somewhat severe once people wrap up their work.

However, you might post your full idea, what the songs are, and what not, just to see who might be interested in helping out.

About the music, I have some Paul Oakenfold mixes, Pete Tong, Sasha, ...etc. Otherwise, I can mix the songs manually or do some house mixes from different songs...etc. I have one in mind already, it's ~55 minutes long.

I can make them as long as you like. But lets keep it around an hour for now.

I'd suggest finding something other than dance/techno music if you want to get people motivated for a group project - DDR Project has a solid hold on that and with the NES project coming up it'll keep people on that too. You'd be better off finding a concept album of some sort (ie Tommy, Sgt. Pepper's, Time, Dark Side of the Moon, etc.) and getting people to work with that.

Dude, I always wanted to make long AMV's... except I'm very picky with music and fairly new to the creation process (plus lately, I've been busy with my new job). But rooting for the idea!

My personal goal is to get good enough to be able to adequately produce 7-15 minute experimental videos to experimental music... but that may be years away, and meanwhile I think I'll hone my skills with more conventional material. So nothing to worry about just yet...

Still, I welcome any and every experimental project from anyone!

I keep toying with the idea of doing a multi-part long AMV to a piece of classical music - a Beethoven symphony or something. Using instrumental music (except in the case of pieces that have been ruined by Disney's Fantasia and the like) would offer an opportunity to tell an original story without having the viewer distracted by the words in the song. But I haven't found the right combination of music and storyline yet.
