LAIN IS GOD!!!

Or maybe her Dad is... 8)

Just watch the show through to its conclusion and you still won't know what's really going on.

Lain is one of the those shows that you have to watch, think about for a day or two, watch again, and then talk to people about.

Its one of those series that you have to think about.

Like that, only more so. The less hype you've heard about the series, the more you'll enjoy it 8)

I loved Lain. It is true that it's the type of anime that you really need to think about. Of course the anime made me think about my psychological questions and problems. My advice, if you think into things to much, think about whether you want to see it. It's still an awesome anime.

I also watch that chunk of anime on Tech TV, and the Action Channel (when they aren't repeating the same stuff over and over). It gives me something to do when I'm doing laundry, and there aren't any "Dirty Harry" or Charles Bronson movies on tv. Nice to hear someone else out there does the same thing.

As for "Lain", she's probably a split personality, one being the primary software required to run "The Wired", and the actual flesh and blood, living human existing in the real world. Because the flesh and blood Lain shares some common traits and stuff with "The Wired" version, she can do some serious crap when she goes on-line. Also, because "The Wired" version of Lain shares the same stuff with the flesh and blood version, "The Wired" version can get out into the real world. Basically, their primary method of getting access to the two different worlds is when the flesh and blood Lain connects to "The Wired".

But why does all anime have to follow the same, boring old pattern of having to comment on philosophy, or the nature of mankind? Why can't these producers make some anime just for kicks, and not have it turn into some perverted mini-series of nothing but fan-service clips sewn together merely by character interactions? I swear, all anime comes from the same ripped-off plotline invented by a dissolutioned Zero pilot back from WWII, who got stuck on Guadalcanal with a translated copy of "The Last of the Mohicans". All anime is just another method for the Japanese to reassure themselves superior weaponry, proper tactics, and adequate logistics will always fail in the end to the old warrior spirit, which for some reason can be easily crippled with two helpings of nuclear holocaust.

Seriously, all anime is just an artistic version of the "Size doesn't matter" argument.
