Anime you would endure anything for

Post by Warpwind » Thu Jul 03, 2003 7:33 am

What anime would you watch reguardless of what had been done to it?
For example if it's really poor image/sound quality, corrupted file, butchered by insert TV station name here, dubbed and whatever else you lot can think of.

dwchang got me thinking about this since he is always plugging Vision of Escaflowne... I've seen this series but it was in about the worse condition of any of the anime I've watched. It was in .rm format, the image size was about 5x5cm and the sound dropped in and out. To top it all off the files were partially corrupted and would crash at odd times and I would have to restart the video and skip the corrupt bit to watch the rest of the vid. Yet with all this standing in my way I still watched the entire series because I was enjoying it so much.

anyone with a similar tale?

Don't think any anime is worth THAT much trouble. Trigun would be the closest but dont think it counts. I saw it on my friend's DVDs. Then I dl'ed the eps cuz certain scenes are worth watching time and time again. But a few episodes got no audio. I put up with it. Is that what you mean? Chances are: no.

You people are losers, get a job, and GET THE DOMESTICS so you don't HAVE to do illegal shit like that...

Geez I swear. If you were discussing NEW unlicensed anime, then I'd say, "whoa", but it seems this thread is about, "which anime can I download that I can stomach?!"

Pathetic...

I can't sit through .rm since my cpu just crashes [hence the reason I don't opinionate such amvs]

Good anime deserves to be bought, not "what can I sit through despite the shit quality JUST cause it's soo good", buy the DVDs and this thread won't need to be seen again...

No that's kinda what I meant

You enjoyed that particular anime to the extent that the problems with it the files don't bother you.

Prehaps I better add that I did search for some better quality VoE but I couldn't find the DVD's or the VHS here.

I have a job, trying to support ones self (all by ones self) and go to college full time does not leave much in the bank to buy new animes.

I have however suffered through bad copies of Yami No Matsuei (many times) until I could order my DVD's AND while I was waiting for them to arrive in shipping (took forever)... because it is THAT GOOD of a story.
Also Trigun, and Inu Yasha -getting these also one at a time :-(
In the mean time I do put up with bad copies and AS version because if I only watched what I could afford to buy at this time I would wear out my cheap walmart dvd player as well as my viewed thousands of times dvds.

I too have a job but am nearly poor thanks to college. Although I've bought a lot of anime, the only anime that I've endured bad quality is Escaflowne and Kenshin. I almost killed my computer while watching it but I survived.
