I guess nobody's going to use Frou Frou's "Must be Dreaming" then eh? ^_^

Actually, I gave an AMV using Linkin Park a review today with an originality score of 9, for reasons other than direct originality (e.g. good use of symbolism), but valid reasons nonetheless.

Here's the video - it has technical issues but still worth watching.

It's not listed as containing spoilers, but it does contain the final scenes of the series, just a warning to those interested.

ppl tend to use the most popular songs there are cause they hear them often etc...but should we blame them?..ok enough is enough but from the few million ppl who actually make amvs 500 is not much...when both music and anime are the same it tends to get boring, but exceptions come...maybe few thousand is much here, but think global...there are much more.... :P

if amv is good it's good..I dont think it can be dropped out because of over popularity....

linkin park is popular and lyrics make it easy to make amv's from their songs... so ppl might start from there...db's are know around the world and easily gettable so easy to start there... think about it..^^

are we gonna procecute amv makers from being fans for a serie they like ot a song they think fits?

I rest my case....

I agree with MAS. If there has been an excellent and (key word) popular video done to the song, you cant use it. If people are instantly going to think of another video when they see yours, you shouldnt do it.

And I completely disagree with Omni. If 500 people have made 1000 terrible videos using Points of Authority (for example) its still fair game. People don't watch shitty videos intentionaly, and those that accidently stumble onto it, will not remember its crappiness. People don't remember terrible stuff like that.

If someone were to make a kickass video with PoA or Place for my Head it would still be absolutely fair game. Do you think of a specific video when you hear those songs? Nope, you dont. Because people havent made anything worth remembering. Untill someone does, its all good.

In reality the lifetime of the song or AMV is up to the listener.

I mean, no matter how many have spawned since the inital idea I am still working on my "Faint" project.
