I doubt that Pioneer would want Tenchi GXP anyways. Although it is a good show, its not based on Tenchi (you know with him only appearing in one episode so far and all). Im pretty sure pioneer passed up GXP and made sure that they will get the rights for the 3rd OAV.

Pioneer tried to get GXP. GXP is heavily based on Galactic politics, and goes into great depth about events in the past, as well as how things work in the galaxy today. It's very important to Tenchi in the overall scheme of things, especially the last 3 episodes!!
As for Tenchi always being Pioneer's: Before, Pioneer in Japan helped make Tenchi. But now, AIC has teamed up with a company called VAP to make GXP and the new OVAs. So, since Pioneer didn't have automatic first dibs, it was up to whoever paid more money this time, and Funi put up more.
Think of it this way. Apart from Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon, Tenchi is the most popular and profitable anime name in the USA today. You would have to be stupid to not want to have rights to a new Tenchi series if you are an anime distributor in the USA. It's OBVIOUSLY going to sell, and will probably be on TV.
Funi is gonna make a mint off GXP, and whoever gets the new OVA is gonna do pretty well too.

I dont' think I"ll be getting GXP though "Tenchi Muyo" without tenchi? [fook dat]
I saw it, thought it was ok, chucked the digisub files... I WILL buy the OAV though, that's for sure...

Heh. You'll at least need to read a synopsis, though. In the grand scheme of things, the events in GXP's ending are some of the most important events to ever take place in the Tenchi OVA world.OmniStrata wrote:*whew...

Now mind you, since GXP takes place AFTER OVA3, the events at the end of GXP will only be really important if they make an OVA4 (Which has already been talked about, so there's a very good chance.. especially if OVA3 does well.)
Oh yeah, at least 2004, probably 2005 I would say. That's my guess based on the fact that FUNimation says that GXP will be coming out in 2004, and since we wanna keep the correct viewing order (like the airing in Japan), we'd want to see all of GXP before OVA3.Beefmaster1000 wrote:Whoa, kick ass. That should be cool.
Also, I can't wait until the new OVA's come here. They probably won't relase it here until 2004, AT LEAST.
I bet there's some people who are so worried about spoilers that they wouldn't want GXP until after OVA3 though, just because that's chronological order

It looks great ^_^ Finally I have an anime to look forward to again. That's a nice feeling I haven't had for a long time.
Now if only they would do a Fushigi Yuugi Eikoden move and put the dub track on the import dvds I'd have it made. Tenchi is one of the few where I like both voice tracks, but the english version ever so slightly better. Of course, nothing beats the Tenchi japanese music cds.
Garylisk, thanks for posting those pics ^_^ you made my day.
