LRK!?

I just had some terrible preminition. Dragonball Z was becoming ridiculously popular on Toonami at about the time when Hybrid Theory released. Now, shortly after the release of Meteora comes Rouroni Kenshin on Toonami, and its popularity is massively massively skyrocketing. I've already seen 6 RK vids to Meteora songs (And all but one were, shall we say, sub-par). Am I detecting a new horrible trend of LRK or just being paranoid?

Oh God I hope not. Not to bash Linkin Ball Z videos, but I'd hate for one of my favorite shows to be regarded (by the majority) in a similar fashion. I mean given, they have every right, but I personally would be upset if my favorite show got that stereotype...I guess that's why DBZ fans are upset when we stereotype them too...hmmm...

Well, there will almost always be something that is overdone and makes people cringe- back when I first got started, it was motorcycle chases from Akira set to techno music...

Just thinking something like that may happen makes me want to eat fried chicken...then again, most anything could make me want to eat fried chicken, including a visit to a foul processing facorty.

Is the combination of Linkin Park & Rurouni Kenshin really new? I can remember getting quite a few vids set to various LP songs over a year ago (the same songs being used for dbz at the time). I guess Toonami just made the anime more popular. But I doubt LRK would ever replace the famous LBZ combination for most-hated amvs. I wouldn't worry about that. Besides, dbz has a much bigger headstart for overuse.

Also, don't forget quite a few Trigun and Bebop vids with LP. I strongly suspect that those still outnumber the RK, at least for now...

On a related note (and yes I see the flames coming), but is it just me or are there WAY too many Cowboy Bebop and Trigun AMVs lately either here or at cons (last two ACens had WAY too many). I mean I can sort of see why since people like the shows, but still...it is getting a bit over-saturated. I mean come on, I think I've seen at least 5 Julia/Spike videos in the last month

Disclaimer: You're free to make whatever AMVs you like (even LRK), but I'm just stating this increase in said videos.
