EC's Observations
My observation skills are once again at work people, and like in days past, will surely cause anger and flaming.
So, while posting on the AMV forum (AKA spamming and trolling), I tend to drift back and forth between the OT and General Anime forums.
While doing this, I noticed that there are two groups who frequent either of the two portions of the AMV forums, but usually not both. Now that part isn't new to anyone, but I'm going to further my observation:
The people who frequent OT tend to be silly, enjoyable folk, most of whom seem to be in their late teens/twenties. They like anime, but it isn't the only thing they have going on in their lives. Additionally, most are generally capable of demonstrating some ability to have intellegent conversations about a wide variety of subjects.
The people who frequent the General Anime portion of the forum tend to be in their early teens, lack worldly experience, are new to the forum as a whole, and seem to only be able to talk about anime.
Is there really an age/interest demographics thing that seperates these two groups. Are they destined to forever remain seperate? And which group is superior from a survival standpoint? Additionally, are these valid observations, or should I drink more and come back for another look?

I wouldn't want to draw sweeping conclusions about anyone (uh, though I have in the past. ahem) - but the anime forum does sometimes scare me. Not so much because people talk about anime - that's what it's for, and I wouldn't assume that people have nothing else in their lives just because they stay on topic.
It's the "MY OPINION IS RIGHT AND EVERYBODY ELSE SUCKS" attitude that annoys me there.
Not everybody is like that, but I've seen a lot of it.

Generally speaking, yea, it's kind of true. GOT does seem to be mostly a 'late-teens/twenties' kind of thing, but in the anime, stuff seems to split up into topics. Anime Trivia or Live Action Eva discussions seem to go to the more mature audiences, while stuff like 'who likes trigun/kenshin/inuyasha?' has more of a lean to younger peeps.
But then you have WOT where... well... you just have a bunch of sarcastic flamers. Or spammers. Often, age doesn't seem to be a dividing factor there.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Actually, I frequent both forums. Not sure where I place in your little categories. Although I can tell you that I'm 20, so I am in no way in my early teens.
