FLCL on Cartoon Network? (2003-06-24 02:25:33)
Production I.G stated at Fanime this past weekend that broadcast rights to FLCL had been sold, but they did not state to which broadcaster. Last night the following interstitial appeared on Cartoon Network during Adult Swim, "A new anime is coming your way. It's only six episodes long. But it's shockingly great. Like Bebop, Big O and Beef Logs." They did not say FLCL, but the assumption is reasonable. [ No More ]

At lest we know its going to AdultSwim and not those bastards at Toonami. AdultSwim can give it a good Home.

Given I think they won't butcher it to the point where it's not the same, but dont' be too confident. FLCL has some pretty "controversial" (to them) material. Hell the first episode has two guys kiss (or so we think). Also stuff like kids smoking. If anything, I've learned the CN HATES smoking.

So yeah, it might be more true than say Kenshin, but I don't think it'll be left untouched (or even close to that).

I think they really need to do their research before picking up shows. It's obvious they didn't watch Kenshin and I'd go out on a limb and say the same for FLCL. Only channel that I could see doing a good job with it is TechTV. They've been fairly true in their edits (or lack thereof).

Too bad somebody can't start an underground channel and show imported/fansubbed anime. Kinda like Wayne's world, but with national coverage.

No doubt, what ever edits they do make are small, of course they might have more flexibility conserning their target audiences arn't usually kids 14 and under. SoulTaker should be airing soon btw.

Cartoon Network is a bunch of hypocrites to make this mysterous and "adult" time and yet still edit and make it for children. So retarded.

cartoon network may not be too mature appealling and a way to much kid friendly but there still busting out the anime i mean yea tech tv got theres now but they havent even been showing anime for a year yet they just started up, but they are busting out different tittles of anime which is cool. Adult swim is cool at times but then lame when they dont have a good line up but this weeks new show is good so far. Of course there is the new animenetwork service only too certian parts. But i got to tip my hat to the 1st peeps that started it all off SCIFI channel they brought us anime when i was a kid waking up around 5 am just to catch them like lilly cat and chasan the robot hunter and armitiage the list could go on, on how many animes movies i have seen from them alone.

Somehow I knew this was coming when I read one of their random screen things when I randomly went over CN. I believe its said: "Things we like" and began with "1. FL CL".

As far as showing FLCL. I dont really care, its a pretty cool show but no that cool. Hell Ive seen it more than Ive seen Kenshin. The only pity is they are showing the dubbed one which has got to be one of the worst dubs ever created.

If you want some subbed anime, watch the International Channel. They run Slayers at 1:30am P.D.T. (Pacific Daylight Time) most nights, when they're not running crappy "Girls Gone Wild" infomercials. They also run Dragonball Z and GT around 7:30pm-8:30pm P.D.T.

I'm sorry, but since I live on the West Coast, I don't pay much attention to E.S.T. or G.M.T.
