I'm not doing discs this year. After Otakon last year (I did like 30 or 40) I said screw it. I coulden't give them away.iserlohn wrote:I've found that it really varies. At AnimeUSA last year I had to take over Vic's computer for a couple hours and keep burning to meet up with demand, but at Katsucon I couldn't get rid of them. That said, Otakon's big, and I plan on bringing 50-75, depending on whether or not I make the finals. Discs are cheap, as are paper sleeves. I shouldn't be hard to find, either.dokool wrote:Also, how many AMV CDs should I plan on burning? They got snatched up like crazy after the Anime Boston panel, but I imagine if I'm in the competition, then *everyone* will want a copy...
Eventually I just left the stack somewhere and when I came back a day later 3 were still there.
It was understandable thought as I only had one AMV on it (the only one I had made) and the rest was some flash animation, music files, and various other stuff. I remember 2 copies I had given out even had full working production demos (the only think missing was the serial number basicly) of premiere 6.0.
I figure I'll wait a year or so till I actually make some stuff and get some exposure before I do anything else like making discs. I mean, I need to get "Westware" out there. This years submission is the first time I've ever even used the logo since I felt this is the first video that deserved it.
SO I guess in a way this is my first offical AMV (at least from my studio). I'll chock the previous 2 vids up to experimentation.
