all this is just really bull. everything that is new gets shot down and chewed apart. if it lives through that period, it becomes accepted. not to get all educational but even christianity was seen as a disease in its early history, making ppl nice and...

UGH, what am i saying, this is an anime forum, save school stuff for school.

But the problem is indeed blown out of proportion. all this censorship crap is redundant. most kids in elementary school knows what a graveyard is, and what function it serves. most kids also know what a battle is, and that indeed, ppl do get into not-so-nice-disagreements and duke it out with fists. so whats wrong with magical powers?? i kno for a fact that most elementary school kids watch wrestling and hockey at home, usu with parents in the kitchen or watching it with them...

now i'll proably get my @$$ chewed out for this, but i kinda agree with the fact that its a direct perversion of christian morals. there are 'rituals', tributing, summoning fiends, switch control cards, the usu works. it might mess up the five year old that just started CCD but anyone who has a semi-average background of his/her religion should be safe.

as for public schools, yea, im down with what all of you ppl are saying...

Yu-gi-oh is a really good anime. I hate what the dub has done to it. I mean, the voice acting is horrible. And, the series isn't just about the card game. The only reason 4Kids dubbed it was because they were supporting the card game.

Yes the voices suck, but if it actually kept the original plot, I wouldn't care. I hate it when people say they hate YGO and have only seen the dub.

The only things of YGO I've seen are the subbed movie(from Kazaa, insidentally), the dub of most of it, and two excerpts of it in Shounen Jump.

And I still like it.

I have no idea why they made Joey/(Okay, lemme TRY and spell his real name here) Jounochi( -crosses fingers and hopes- ) such a wimpy dumass in the tv show. I mean, he's so cool in the manga...
... Even though Jounochi was my favorite character before I read part of the manga.

And what's this about there being a YGO that's not about cards?
Where can I find it? What is it about?(If it's not about cards).

And how long is the manga of YGO(how many books/volumes)? When will they come out in the US if they already havent? I'm tired of buying a huge book of random manga when I only want to read a couple of them that're inside...

YGO is not about cards. It's about Dark Yugi looking for his memories. 4-Kids put some lame ass plot in the dub about Marik trying to rule the world with teh cards and Yugi is the chosen one to stop him.. BY PLAYING CARDS.

No. Malik wants to kill Yugi because Yugi killed his father and enslaved his people and kill them all. =\ But that doesn't sell cards I guess.

In any event, Otogi is my favorite (notice avatar?) since his skills at the dice can take down down many thugs. (clips on my site)

The anime is better IMO since it has more violence and music and emotion and the best filler out there. (Noa's Ark and Gunmen Royal)

Gunmen out to kill Yugi and co. x_x; Damn that Dartz, he's badass.

Otogi is cool, but what he did to Yugi was kind of Cruel.
I mean, he expected Yugi to beat him without even knowing the rules?

Otogi was all like "I sent Pegasus the rules etc., etc., and he beat me, the creator of this game!"

"Yes, well, Pegasus had the rules you dumbass! Yugi is blind!"

But it all ended up all good and whatnot. =\

Otogi was just pissed DDM never launched because Pegasus was killed and accused Yugi of killing him and such.

Otogi acts bizzar in the manga, which is why I don't like it much, and he doesn't do anything but stand there.. but in the anime he gets to kick some thug's asses and rival Honda for Shizuka's affection and other stuff. ^_^

I just spent 30 minutes watching Yu-gi-oh on WB and hell, who cares. If The dubbed version can start such a big craze, then the world's not worth saving.

neway, all you have to do is believe in teh heart of the cards.
