star ratings????

Hello guys!

i searched the whole forum just to know how the rating system works but i still have a question ok, i uploaded a video and under "edit my videos" i found 3 days later: stars:1 ; star avg.:4
hmmm and now i like to now what exactly "stars:1"(Is that only 1 opinion??did i just get 1 star? argG!) means and how it came to "star avg.:4" (how calculated???What? i got stars 1 and then star avg:4? sounds strange ...... )
second question:I can only see the star rating in the "edit my Video" section---Are the ratings only visible for the one who uploaded the video or for all peoples

It's pretty simple.

One person left you a star rating of 4.

If another person gave you a rating of 5 you would have 2 star ratings and an average of 4.5.

It's a simple mean average (sum of star ratings divided by number of star ratings).
