You can do it, but I'm not sure how. If you can encode DivX on a mac, you can encode any MPEG-4 implimentation on a mac.

I know I keep going on about this but, MPlayer will do XviD on Mac OS X, and as part of the distribution you get MEncoder which will encode to XviD.
