Interesting...I just wonder how much it's going to cost.

I'm also wondering about the havok the PS2.5 is going to cause when it comes out. Because before now, the old playstation model was also known as the PSX. Oh well, let the retail renaming games begin...

I want to know one thing. If I buy FFXI that's coming out next year, will I still be able to play it on the regular PS2? I don't feel like wating nearly 8 months just for the new PSX, because I want the PS2 now to play FFX, Kingdom Hearts and FFX-2 when it comes out. So, will I need to buy another system just for FFXI?

You'll still need to buy the modem and harddrive upgrades for the PS2. I think the cost on the hardrive is supposed to be between $30-$40. The Modem...right around $15.

We'll it isn't really a next gen system. The graphics capabilities are going to be exactly the same...really, in terms of what it is adding to the table it is little different than the Xbox, with the exception of the writiable DVD thing.
