I would just like to thank Metro for posting that link to the evaotaku page. I went through the whole site and I must say it was thouroughly enlightening and answered many a question I've been holding about the series and movies for a long time...

They were approved by the creators of NGE...why can't I consider them a reliable source....?evaotaku.com (in reference to the RCB and D&R program books) wrote:These books are especially interesting because they were specifically approved by Studio Gainax and the producers of Evangelion. Thus they offer a rare look at Evangelion from the creators themselves. They are canon and official.
Well what he is getting at (which is a good point) is that these things need to be confirmed within the show itself since well..it's the #1 source of information...if something seems contradictory in the book...the show is obviously correct.neo eva wrote:They were approved by the creators of NGE...why can't I consider them a reliable source....?evaotaku.com (in reference to the RCB and D&R program books) wrote:These books are especially interesting because they were specifically approved by Studio Gainax and the producers of Evangelion. ditto, just thought i'd also let it be known that i'm also letting the argument die, it's been resolved. "Live and let live..." (one of my favorite quotes, also "peace" is a good one.dwchang wrote:Well since you were never disrespectful about it...all we can do is respect your wishes and vice versa. I don't wanna get in a "I'm right, you're wrong" mentality. There is no "right" per se. If we both enjoy it for different reasons...so be itCole wrote:Kaji, dwchang,
I can understand what you're saying, but I doubt my tastes will change. Reading has always been more enjoyable for me than visual entertainment. I don't consider anime as "just cartoons", but by the same token, I don't consider tv shows of any kind to be as enthralling as a good book (not just fictional stuff, but biographies, histories, commentaries, etc.) Granted, I watch more anime these days than I read books. But I could never delve into the psychological aspect of an anime like EVA. Maybe that's too bad, but since I'm not exactly losing something I used to have, I don't mind in the least. I'm content with the likes of Rahxephon and Full Metal Panic.. Live and let live...
Yeah I've heard it's similar to Eva (in a good way). I have had the first DVD for a few months and hope to watch it soonDaio Kaji wrote: (btw-Rahxephon looks sweet btw, but i've only seen Koopiskeva's vid Euphoria that used it, not any actual episodes, but i could only be saying this because the video was sweet)
Sorry for not replying earlier, I got sidetracked. You can find the answer HEREJebadia wrote:Why did he choke her? Unfortunately I'm waiting for ADV to pick the Renewal Eva (rumor has it they will) before I buy the series, so I don't fully understand everything in the movie with only having scene eps 1-7 (3-7 was in Vivo :O!!!).Metro wrote: "Why did Shinji choke Asuka in EOE?"
Uhm...I thought one of us did state it was because he was confirming that there was another...AtomicWeezleman wrote:wow dude........ that puts all our speculation out the window a few month back, we were nearly there but not quite at that answer....... but thinking about it, it is a bit obvious........but i dont think thats the complete answer thought, it s part of it. I still hold that the 'how disgusting' is to symbolise Anno disgust at having to make the film
Anno- You bastards, what the fuck was wrong with the ending in the first place?? <shakes fist angrily in the air>
