How could I leave out Star Trek: The Next Generation?! Yes, that was another of my obsessions, mostly for the books and the movies - I never broke down and bought the series.

oh, and it would be best if you compliment your post with a pic or two, just to make your nerdly obsessiveness so much more apparent.

I completely forgot! I love the Dragonrider series.

I also LOVE Garth Nix's Abhorsen Trilogy. I devoured the first two as if I were a 12-year-old reading Harry Potter and I'm waiting for the third one to come in a mail.

Ah, the dragonriders- a great concept, well-built world (Pern), with a running series that didn't get old. It's right up to par with Piers Anthony's Xanth. I missed the Harry Potter craze, but there were plenty of other imaginative books out there to make up for it.

Fantasy novels, especially:

Robert Jordan's 'The Wheel of Time'. See sig for reference, I change it every so often, so... Anyway, grand, large and sweeping don't come to close to how big this series is.

George R. R. Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire'. Incredible in absolutely every single way... characters that are beyond involving and a fair way into 'almost real'. The plot is never dull, always teeming with corruption and intrigue. And I would like to add that Arya Stark owns.

David Farland's 'Runelords'. Some of the people in this series have STUPID powers that make for good reading, and the plot is well-scripted. I fancy that Raj Ahten could take down 99% of people- even quite a few DBZers.

Orson Scott Card is another good writer that I'd *still* recommend, with novels for adults or teens. I especially liked his Pastwatch and Ender's Game (the entire series except for one book). I remember months when I just read his novels, over and over...a minor obsession, I'd say.
