What's that list based on? Opinion, surveys, sales?

I'm pretty sure that it's a survey done in Japan. I'm not sure how many people were surveyed though. Weird thing is that I expected Trigun and Akira to be there somewhere.

Staring at the night sky above the cliffs,
The stars like tears above the flames.

As the fires fall and burn the grass,
I stare at my home, watching, helpless.
A song of sorrow flows through the air,
Between the sounds of hail and thunder.

Staring at the ground beneath my feet,
The valleys like sullen creases on a tired face.

Between the sadness my house burns,
Like a friend watching from far off.
The sky and the ground swallow up
All history and time not able to look back.

Trigun was well recieved, but wasn't all that popular in Japan. Much like Hellsing and Outlaw Star, it made far more of an impact here in the U.S.

Could be a cultural thing. Trigun has a Wild West aspect to it, for instance, which is something I don't think most of the Japanese audience can relate to.

Galaxy Angel is on that list, but no Azumanga Daioh? For shame!
I'm out...

I'm surprised there aren't more shoujo (sp.?) on there. Like Chobits, though Card Captor Sakura was up there.
Why do you hurt me like this? Is it because I dared to love, dared to dream? I loved you and you left on me just because of one simple word. Can't you see? You ruined your life and mine. Don't come back. You dared to leave and I dared to stay.

Lupin III is on there? I didn't realize it was so popular. Shows you how out of it I am.

I was suprised about that as well. I mean its cool and all but I didn't think it would make a list, espically not that high. Mabye I am out of it as well.
