Half an hour for a whole DVD? Not on my computer.

I just don't appreciate having my intelligence insulted, that's all. Carry on.

I just found and started using GreenCine so I dont' know if they have a distro center nearby for me or not, but NetFlix has a bunch of them so ideally it takes no more than a day or two to get them or return them- it works out to about $1/DVD over the course of the month if you only keep each disc a day or so before sending it back. GreenCine has roughly the same pricing as Netflix.

Of course, as you've said, time is one of your bigger problems. I probably wouldn't have time to watch half as much stuff without my laptop, which lets me watch DVDs on the trains to and from work. I considered getting one of the small, portable DVD players instead, but the laptop is a lot more versatile- but also a lot more expensive. The portable players are actually getting reasonable- about $150 or so (well, more reasonable than they have been), and are great for watching things on public transit commutes and any other time you're just sitting around waiting.

I think you read little too much into a post if you consider someones suggestions for where and how to get source an attack on your intellegence. Perhaps people are offering advice because this is a forum for people to share their thoughts on things.

Be careful what you ask for.... HHH volume 2 brainstorming is in progress...

Although you might want to start focusing on such other great quality H titles like Ai Shimai. Once you see it you can never listen to Motoko and Shinobu in Love Hina the same again!

Speaking of seiyuu in H anime. Ayeka from Tenchi Muyo. Her seiyuu seems to be the Queen of H anime....I swear.

Let me preface this by saying up front I find myself in an interesting position when it comes to anime in the USA. I find myself somewhere between the Japanese spectrum and the USA spectrum, belonging to neither. This is due to my widely ranging associations when it comes to anime fans and those who watch anime that I have come to know. Understanding the position of anime in normal social contexts in Japan has also led me to be more careful about they way I advertise that when dealing with certain people. At any rate:

Most of the anime in here are being mentioned as overlooked. What I prefer to think about is trying to use anime that most people here have never even seen. Specifically I'm talking about older stuff that ranks in the upper echelons of their respective generations of anime and which of course you are only going to get from Japan. My projects are limited by not just my vision but also my bankroll usually. I collect anime (and watch it too of course ^_^). I have always come into most of my favorite projects from the position of someone who liked said anime and collected it.

Lots of older stuff is coming out on DVD in Japan which is really nice. Maybe that will be useful for me in the future. I can't vouch for everything I am going to list but rest assured there is also great stuff in the 1980s. And anything made by Nippon Animation should be good. There's also all the Masterpiece theatre anime which I have not seen used much. I remembere once that Kusoyaro was inquring about Romeo's Blue Skies....wonder if he ever bough the DVDs...

So here we go! Some stuff from the 60's & 70's I want to collect & watch or use in AMVs (not all are on the same level of quality but I made sure to throw in a lot of the robot stuff....sorry..for lack of as many shoujo titles...my knowledge of the nekketsu mech shows of yore is far better):

How about Ark the Lad? I haven't seen any of those yet and all the DVDs are out, along with the games that the series was based on. *sigh* I'm thinking of doing one when I have the time, although I did make a Fushigi Yugi one while I was bored... the things I do when I'm bored and stuck at someone's house with three dogs that like to fight...
