Sorry man, since you made it like super large in text (obviously to emphasize the BIG part), I thought you were being sarcastic...damn internet and lack of emotions...again sorry about that.

I'll second that one... great OVA series.

Otherwise: Eva, Lain, bla bla bla. Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu is great. Anything I can sing all the words to without reading the titles (currently: Slayers Next, Slayers Try, Fruits Basket and Eva). A lot of people seem to like Wolf's Rain's OP, but it never really caught me.

Incidentally, my local anime society runs end-of-term quiz nights. Opening / Closing songs are always a popular topic, eg:

"How many English words are there in the intro to Initial D?" [shudder]

"How many people are there in the final scene of the Kodocha opening?"

"Which series contains [English lyric X]?"

The hardest question we ever had was:

"How many sections are there to the first Ring in Geneshaft?" [team with closest guess gets the points]

The questions on which I scored the most points on were the 'Slayers character hair colour round' and anything relating to Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar 8)

Azumanga Daioh has an excellent opening, in my opinion. Not too flashy and not too bland. And a great song, to boot.

The Oh! My Goddess OAV openings, as previously mentioned, fit the series well.

Love Hina has one of the best. Who can't love the upbeat catchiness of "Sakura Saku" ?

The Evangelion one is classic, no doubt. "Cruel Angel's Thesis" has the perfect blend of tension, drama, passion, and even upbeat sound for the series. Had the series been better handled, and not tried to be a combo monster of the week/conspiracy plot/rambling philosophical work, it would've been tight.

The Super GALS! Kotobuki Ran opening, with its bright visuals and Japanese ska, is good.

The opening to Sexy Commando Masaru-San is one I like. It misrepresents the series somewhat, though. If only someone would pick it up or finish subbing it  . The opening song is "Romance" by Penicillin, if anyone is interested.

A terrible opening to a great series (in my opinion), is the one for Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Terrible song, and I don't need to see some real life Jpop singer overlayed onto an animated background.

That's about it, off the top of my head at this moment.
I love Azumangas opening. Love hinas and yes even evas. How about Urusei yatsuras or lodoss tv opening.

Hmm fav openings eh?

Well they would be...
Eva
X TV
Ah My Goddess
.Hack//sign
Outlaw star
Vandread (most things involving GONZO rock!)
Spiral (at first the song is annoying but infectious)
Scryed
Chobits

There is probably a whole bunch more but I can't think of any at the moment

lol, one of my friends said of this "Isn't this just Ricky Martin in Japanese?" and ever since I haven't been able to take it seriously.
