so lucky, I've heard bunch of stories of people who had their comics lost or thrown away. My dad for example collected before and after the Vietnam war, but after he came back from the war someone threw all his comics away or sold them (never found out). He had all the original #1's for marvel. Then he had certain DC comics, like JLA. He thinks it was his brother, but too late now.KhayotiK wrote:I come from a comic collecting family. Both of my uncles probably have about 5k invested in comics, all the way back from when they were kids.. The gross value of their collections is something I don't even want to guess. My father was a collector back in the 80s and 90s, but has quit collecting since then, I can almost guarantee he's got at least a few good ones.
I myself have a Detective comic from the 60s in damn good condition (for being 40 years old) and according to a price guide is worth a good 3 grand. A lot of the comics I received when I was younger, rare or not, are in storage, so I can't really list them at the moment.
A guy at my job had alot of the older ones cause his dad collected and left the guy I know the comics when his mom and dad split, but later on the mom made him throw them in the trash.
