Making it Flow

Post by Cole » Mon Jun 02, 2003 3:28 am

I've only made a handful of videos (in reality, only two full-length music videos, meaning that they actually last for an entire song). Tonight I was finishing up my second video (that'll hopefully be posted sometime tomorrow) and I could not for the life of me get scenes from different episodes to mix together. My footage is from Rurouni Kenshin, Hellsing, Flame of Recca, and Samurai Deeper Kyo. I ended up just using action sequences from the same episode for each series. I was wondering how some of you deal with that. Is the song a big part of it? I mixed in the theme song from Suikoden III to tie all the footage together, and it just didn't look right for some reason when I tried to mix fights from, say, FoR episode 1 with FoR ep 9. Maybe it was just me.

You might check the transition between episodes. If the fights involve the same people, or one of the same fighters, you could try to end the first with a close up face-shot and then for the next scene (in the different episode) come out from a similar face shot. Or you could use some flashy transition, if you have a good movie maker.

Thanks, I'll try that out. I'm still learning how to do transistions and get timing down right with the tempo of the music.
