Simperson.com

Post by Simperson » Sun May 25, 2003 12:23 am

Hello everyone,
I know I haven't been active in the community for a long time now, but many of you have come to know my website as a great place to download a large number of anime music vidoes. You have bor wth me through my connection limit and seen about 1 and 1/2 years of a great website. I am sorry to say that Simperson.com will be going down for an undertermined amount of time. This is mainly that I finished college and will no longer be able to host the website from the college network. I have to find Simperson.com a new home. I get portions of the website back up when I can, but the obvious last thing that will go back up are the video files. I do plan on getting the webstie back up as it is a hobby I enjoy very much. If you have any questions about the website and it's futures please email me at simperson@simperson.com . For latest updates on progress Simply check www.simperson.com. I'll at least of a construction page up or something in about a week. Sorry and hope to have everything back to normal sooner than I expect.
from,
Simperson of Simperson.com

Hey...since you won't have the ability to host all the videos, how about, like, just a massive catalog - one that strives to contain info on every anime music video ever made. Members can sign up and list their own videos, and can list other peoples' unlisted videos by proxy. You can even have a little "journal" script so that people can write little snippets of information, video making and otherwise. You can even put up a forum, and in time maybe start taking donations to pay for a new system/service to host the videos again...

Nah, nevermind. Stupid idea, it'd never work out.

Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all run around in a darkened room, munching pills, and listening to repetitive music~Kristian Wilson, CEO, Nintendo Gaming Corporation

I will not take monitary donations due to possible complications legally I never even want to get into or even comprehend. As for all the other things, AnimeMusicVideos.org does a good enough job of a place for an up to date catalog of videos. I was seeking to releive the video hosting pressures. The catalog and forums (which btw I have already had for a long time) will be the first things back up.
This will all be done as I get the time, money, and opertunities. I still haven't finished moving all my stuff into my room and I have a basement construction project that I need to do.
ETA for just at least the main webpages and not even files, hmmmm, maybe the middle of July, since that's when I start my job and will have some money for at least a good webhosting service.

Hey guys, don't know if you know this but Simperson has been on for a LONG time. He hosted a lot of videos that would have otherwise gone unrecognized. This was YEARS before the carrot or doughnut or anything. He's done a lot of good for the community. He didn't have to host anyone's videos and would ask permission before doing so - for such a massive catalogue, that surprised me. I, for one, will miss Simperson's site.

Pricks.

I really appreciated the place too. I know that early on, many of the videos I found on the web that were ones from cons were linked to his site. I found that he (?) had pretty good taste and I downloaded a good many videos I enjoyed early on before I ever even knew about this place.

Thanks for the memories Simperson. Good times :D

Erm... obviously, the humorous intent of my post has gone over several peoples' heads...

Nah - you forget, jbone, that you're on the forum - sarcastic humour goes straight over the heads of most of the users. It's dangerous to simply leave a sarcastic comment regarding a lesser known member - at times, they can be berrated when that was not the original intent. Besides, I like Simperson, and after your post there were several others beginning to follow the trend that happens so often in the forums. I really hate it when that happens to decent people. The assholes, on the other hand... I won't stand up for them.
