Experimentation vs. Satire (Dinosaurs vs. Turtles)
As some are no doubt aware there was recently a "mould breaking" video released by BabysitterDinosaurLeontes (Wired Hypnosis). The video wasn't universally liked and it seemed to prompt a "piss take" of sorts by Kamoc (THISISTHERIGHTHOLE).
Both videos got a mixed response but Kamoc also took some flack because he was perceived to be ridiculing BabysitterDinosaurLeontes'.
In my opinion Kamoc's video is satire. It is a poke at what I think Kamoc felt to be pretension (although I have not discussed this with him), and a slap in the face to that which is well outside the norm.
Which brings me to my point: why can't we support both positions? If we can applaud but not necessary like originality in the first video, why can't we applaud but not necessary like satire in the second video?
It the reason self-righteousness or justice, hubris or support?
I am asking the question because even though it is rarely fun to be its object, satire is in my opinion a valid form of expression and one that is no less valid than anything else.
What do people think?

It all depends on the type of satire.
Think about when Comedy Central hosts celebrity roasts. All the other people, one by one, poke fun of the roasted person in good fun and humor. Even though it makes fun of the roasted person, that person feels good. That is a good form of satire.
The opposite, obviously, is just pure mockery and out of hatred or jealousy.

Honestly, you friggin people need to get lives. I thought there was some sort of deep meaning to each of these videos and the arguments following said videos. That was the point I realzed what everyone was arguing over: The interpretation of a digital medium in a niche community, of a niche genere, of a niche subculture, in a species that is actually one of the least numerous on the planet, On a planet that sits in the 3rd position from the sun, which in turn sits in the an arm of a galaxy, which is slowly spinning around a universal axis.
You are small in the grand scheme of things. Grow the hell up and quit taking yourselves so seriously. All of you. That includes you Dinosaurs, AD, Kusoyaro, and Kamoc.
I've said my peice. What you make of it is entirely up to you.
