Uploaded SaiKano video

Post by JG » Tue May 27, 2003 6:53 pm

I uploaded the video I showed at Animazement 2k3 if anyoner would like to take a look, maybe trade opinions or what have you. Feedback is appreciated but by no means required, I mostly just want people to watch the anime, it's a great anime no one seems to have seen before.

Anyway:

Um. You posted the actual download link. I'd like to be able to read about the vid b4 I decide to review it.

I'm certain a number of us have seen SaiKano. I have, and Kusoyaro said he's working on a SaiKano vid.

Right off, the number one thing I noticed is that you have an aspect ratio problem. Notice how everyone looks sort of squashed? SaiKano is a widescreen show, and it looks like you goofed a little with the resizing.
It's pretty distracting, to me at least.

I won't harsh you out too much for using what looks like fansub footage, since there's no region 1 release yet (or do I assume too much, thinking that you're in R1?) and the R2 DVD's are fairly expensive. (I already have the first 4)

In general, you had some good ideas, but the aspect thing was quite distracting to me, which made it hard to pay full attention to the content.

I suggest making the resize problem your #1 priority.

Yeah, I made a n00b mistake of posting the download link instead of the actual video link. Here's the fixed link:

As to the aspect ratio.. Well, yeah. The R2 DVDs are incredibly expensive. I'd love nothing more than to have them to rip, or find raws, but that's not as easy as one might think. So, I'm happy with how it turned out to a point, but yes, the aspect ratio and video quality are two things I'd love to fix.
