IT looks like the site that kthulhu pointed out even has a auto-detect feature. Not sure how good it would work :/.

Also I couldn't bing a B3G, there was a 83C tho :/

Win98 is not very-good at detecting things; however, your in luck ^^

this is almost goof-proof, and it is not that hard to do:
. what ever card your looking at usually has one (1) LARGE chip ( IC ) on it.
1) there will be a Main Name
.... Trident, Yamaha, Crystal . . .

2) right below that will be a set of Letters and Numbers
.... TGUI9680-1, XG YMF724F-V, CX4237B-X03 . . .

Trident and Yamaha have their own web site for drivers.
. . Crystal is that 4% I was talking about ~_~ . . they are now Creative Lab's ( Sound Blaster )

to find-out which one you have, turn the power-off . . . pull the card . . look for the largest IC ( chip ) on that board . . write-down the letters and numbers . . . replace the card . . . start-up your computer again ^^ and search for them ^^

? is this an old-fashion way of doing things ?? . . YUP!

traxx

just my opinion ^^

^_^ Yes it's a good idea that works, that's why I suggested it a day or two ago :P
