is there any way i can play .dat files?? cause my media player doesnt play some of them. if they do they only play sound. if theres a certain player for .dat files where can i find one?? thanks.

Is this a MPEG1 VCD file .dat? One you got off a CD?

no its an avi video i download partial of and im trying to watch what i got of it so far. but when i play it theres no video only sound. i guess because of divx format???

yes, kazaa stores incomplete downloads in dat format. No, no players can read them because incomplete avis arent meant to be parsed. Yes, virtualdub can import partial and otherwise broken avis so you can preview the porn while its still downloading.

I've found mplayer to read most incomplete .avi files.
