Those .rm files
All my music videos are .rm files. Is it worth getting them linked on my AMV profile or whatever? I know alot of people hate that file type. I would put up the original mpegs but my dial up ISP would never last through the whole upload.

It's not a bandwidth problem that is keeping me from putting up the mpegs. It's the fact that I have dial up and my connection just isn't gonna stay connected for a 30-50MB upload. I'll get disconnected... that's why everyone hates dial up. It's dial up and it sucks.Giton wrote:Don't you have any friends that have more bandwith?
Or at school?
Or encode with Divx/Xvid, you should get a similar quality as the rm files.
If there's no other possibility, then put the rms online.
But first check if it's really the only possibility left.

RM has a nasty stigma attatched to it, for good reason, coz its EVIL AND OBNOXIOUS AND TRIES TO COLONISE YOUR FUCKIN PC!! But RM files are not always ikky quality, in fact i've seen a few that are damn good. Nowhere near as good as your MPEG formats at equvalent bitrates mind you, but yeah. Try to reencode to either MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 (AVI) if possible, but if theres no other way i suppose linking to RM wouldn't be too bad. WMV is absolute vomit, it compresses like blended shit, and ruins the audio stream in the process, not to mention placing so many artifacts on the video that it becomes a danger to your optical health.
