You know, I was just thinking that a good ninja would solve this whole problem.

Hmm, I must be pretty out of the loop, becuse I only am finding this out from this fourm. But after reading this I'm wondering if that's such a bad thing? I don't have a TV and I don't read teh news paper, so really I get most of my news off the internet, and from the looks of it maybe I should keep at it >_>

i just want to know exactly who believes we have a censorship problem in America.

I want to know exactly who and how often people run into an issue where is has been censored by the government.

I don't think they talk about direct censorship since it would be too obvious. It's not probably even about what is not told. It's about what is told and how that worries people.

Remember though, that when you have a reason to worry, it's probably too late to change things :)

And news police is far too obvious. Better to have your friends run
the media and screen what get's into the air and what stays off.
Just look at the fox news

Oh well, i'm off to greener pastures....

What's your opinion of the BBC, then (if I recall correctly, it's a British government run broadcasting service)?

Government run media is of course different than commercial medias since they don't have to watch the bottom line (of course, if government is un-democratic then they have different agenda).

I don't claim to be an expert in this so bear with me. If/when commercial media has connections to political elite, then the saying 'I scratch your back, you scratch mine' is easy to apply. Politicians make laws that make it easier for media concentrations to work and media keeps citizens happy and politicians in power with their broadcasting.

I don't believe there is such things as 100% neutral media but no-profit, government run media gets pretty close. At least here. Or maybe i'm just too deep in the matrix already....

I find it harder to trust a government run information network compared to a privately run one that has to deal with competition.

Yeah, it sounds good to say the media and politician are shaking hadns to do eachother favours, but it forgets the basic idea that privatised news companies are businesses and have to make money, usually through advertising.

If there is no advertising revenue, then no amount of handshaking in the world will save a news network unless they are bought by the government under federalization. and just what we want in america, another federal agency that doesnt fire its bad eggs. . .

what motivation does a no-profit government run news network have to be A:impartial, B:fast, C:complete and thorough?
