Um...I watch the occasional Final Fantasy Music vid, but really, this is www.ANIMEmusicvideos.org It just so happens that the same people who like making video game and live action vids have to come here because they have no large community of their own, and until theat minority becomes large enough to support it's own community they'll keep comming here, and I really don't mind. If you don't like them, don't watch them.
Also, I believe Phade is right in disallowing video game and live action vids from going up on the Carrot(at least for now) because the anime should have priority because this is the basis of the .org, is for people who like to put ANIME to music to come and get themselves heard.
Uh, I hope at least some of that made sense.
do you boycott non-AMV in a-m-v.org?

This is how I see it(And I may probably be flamed for eternity, too):
Live action stuff shouldn't be on the site at all, but then again, they have nowhere else to go, so you can't really do anything about it.... However, there arn't many purely live action MVs on this site nayway, so it's really not something we should complain all that much about... >.>
As for live action paired with anime, I think if it's atleast 80% anime it's fine...
And as for games not being anime, I'd have to say: 0o
Take Vandread or Blue Sub 6, for instance. If you take one of the pure CG scenes, do you think that is any less of an anime then say, Escaflowne?
........My two cents.

Most of the video games we play today are from Japan, they're all made with CG, but what else is that known as? Computer animation. That said, anime is defined as Japanese animation. So if it came from Japan, and it's computer animated, then it's definetly anime. That's why Final Fantasy is anime in my book... >.>jonmartensen wrote:
And BishounenStalker...Anime != Japanese animation
It's a style, even a genre. Just because the style originated in Japan does not mean it is Japanese animation. There is Japanese animation that looks nothing like what would be called anime, and there are many animations which are not Japanese that could easilly be called anime.

I disagree with the live action music vidders have nowhere to go. If you do a music video on a popular movie/character you always have a place to go where it can be seen. I've done videos on Spider-man, The Crow, Lord of the Rings, various Jet Li videos. Every one of those movies/actors have a huge fan-base supported by messageboards similar to this one. I have a 35 GB monthly transfer limit and it always gets pushed to the limit, sometimes over the limit. And if the video is any good and appreciated by the fans of the particular fandom it'll get around on its own.
