Just a quick question (uploaded video content)

It says for vids to be uploaded they can't contain sexual nudity. I have a vid I wanted to show but it does have nudity but it's just snapshots of the girl (like something from Playboy) and doesn't show any sex at all so does this count as sexual nudity or is it aloud? I just wanted to know so I don't accidently get banned for it:P

This would probably go in "Site Questions" or the Donut forum , and is something that would be better directly asked of Phade (as he has the final, and only I believe, say on this) over PM or email.

However, there's no stopping us from discussing it to death anyways

If the shots are "Like something from Playboy" than I would say it would probably not be allowed- simply because pictures from Playboy would almost always be considered 'sexual nudity'. True, they don't actually show the act of sex, but it is nudity intended for sexual purposes- namely the arousal of the viewer. True, it can likely be argued that just about any nudity in anime could be intended for that purpose (though in some cases- I've seen Doki's "Right Now" too recently- it's one hell of a perverse stretch). However something like Ranma losing her shirt is discernably different than, say, (OK, I'm having a difficult time coming up with a good example, so shoot me) the nude photo shoot from Perfect Blue.

But in the end, it's up to Phade to decide- so you should contact him about it.

okay well it kind of borders on that so I guess I just wont' show it. Basically the scene is this girl is killing the man who took nude snap shots of her and I flashed scenes of the photos inbetween her stabbing him. It's from Perfect Blue, so if anyone has seen it you'll know what I mean. If you're still curious to see it I can send it over aim or something. BlankTarget00 is my aim name.

Incidentally, when AX finally decided that the El Hazard hand-down-the-pants scene was too much for them (oh no, "sexual touch!"), Ranma losing her shirt was one of the scenes suggested as a replacement. One of the rationales given was that Ranma is more well known, and more people would be familiar with the scene and its context.

Hmmm. Interesting trivia item.

I haven't really decided what I think about contests not allowing content like that... I hate to see the creative process restricted, but I also don't think I want to see cons have to start checking IDs for the AMV contest. Damn repressive puritanical morals...
