Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point ---Incredible!

Post by MistyCaldwell » Sun May 04, 2003 1:52 pm

Today is opening day at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. But I got to go yesterday for Longaberger's private rental of the park.

I could go into to great lengths describing my day (I'll leave that for my journal) but I'll just say this:

The new coaster, Top Thrill Dragster is more than awesome. For those of you who may not know, it's the world record holder at 420 feet tall, 120 mph in 4 seconds at the get go, and one heck of a ride!

Is anyone planning on getting to Cedar Point this summer? It's worth it! Even at 17 seconds, it's worth it.

Sorrrrryyyy Flint, it'll be ok...the place is open until October so you have plenty of time to make it. Just not on any days when the park has been rented privately and the lines are practically non-existent in many cases.

Ohio on lake erie has a lot of humidity and feels really hot in the summertime Earthcurrent. Though it felt like winter yesterday.

I am assuming there aren't a lot of thrill ride fans here. It's too bad because that ride is quite an experience!

Cedar Point has more to offer than just that ride, being practically an island surrounded by lake Erie. I was actually quite suprised to see stuff about it even in USA Today.

The park officially opens today and they even auctioned off the seats on the first train of the day....people paid like 1500 for the first seats! I just had to give them 4 hours of my life standing in line

Dangit... I've gotta ride that, too bad I couldn't go with some private group, like you did with the longaberger's group. The lines are going to be hell.

..Why?

The way they talked about it, the lines should have been really short as they thought people would be too scared of it. I think the height can be fully appreciated from the top of Power Tower. It's close enough to it that you get really high up and look how much higher the Dragster is than where you are...and looking down from the Power Tower is pretty fun since you are over 200 feet in the air ^_^ just hanging there waiting for them to drop you.

Millenium is still one of my favorites though. Dragster is really impressive, it's like a sensory overload. You are going way too fast to really ever see how high up you are, except when you are going down the hill, it looks like you are plummeting straight into the ground :D

Cme to Ohio then Chaos. Despite Ohio being lame (yeah I know  ) we DO have a Six Flags park with a Sea World next to it, as well as Paramount's King's Island. That one is kinda puny though.

There is nothing puny about that ride though....except maybe that the whole thing is over in 20 seconds ^_^
