anybody DJ?

Post by The Non-Professional » Sun May 04, 2003 4:38 pm

I rigged my CD to play CDs while its open and when I take out a CD it still plays for a few seconds. What iv been doing lately is playing some music then replace it real fast with another CD. I consider myself an amatue DJ, so does anybody else here Mix music for a hobby or whatnot?

i consider my self a DJ sometimes: whenever there's this long break in a song, i take my invisible turntables and go chika chika woo woo chika chika woo woo chika chika....

my brother's a professional DJ. He writes all his own music, like those 20 minutes songs, with all the long pauses until breaks.

Then he uses his own stuff when he spins live.

I used to DJ at parties and the like, if you have a decent computer with a large selection of MP3's, you can make your computer act just like a fader/mixer, even to the point of beatmatching for smoother transitions. I configure my winamp for a 5-12 second crossfade with a beatmatch when I'm spinning trance and techno. With reggae and hiphop, I usually run a <3 second fade without beatmatching. Right now, I'm learning Fruityloops so I can start making my own mixes.
