Re: kenshin dvds
I wouldn't suggest buying all 22 discs anyway. IIRC, I'd buy discs 1 - 3, 6 - 14 (or whatever the last Kyoto one is..."Fire Requiem"). The rest of the discs are meh (and that's if I'm being nice).el_farlo wrote:anyone know if they sell a dvd box set of all 22 dvds...

Then again, if you like random fillers about sumo wrestlers, circuses, reilgious fanatics, German Knights (groan) and....armpit people (double groan), then by all means buy all of them.

If you're wondering why I suggest buying on those discs, they're the only ones that are part of the "true" story (i.e. manga). In the manga, there were no sumo wrestlers, Shougo (reigiliouis), knights or armpit people. So don't think kenshin was THAT dumb..it wasn't. Sony just made shitty filler episodes while waiting for Manga volumes to come out...too bad for us.

One more thing, if you're worried you might be "missing" something...you aren't. If you skip those episodes (in particular the discs in the middle, where you'd think you'd need them), you'll be fine. They have no relation to the other episodes since they are little stories in themselves and have nothing to do with anything (i.e. you don't need to know what happened to enjoy the others...filler).
The other discs hoewver...they are related and tell the story and develop the characters (just like the manga did).
Hope this helps.
