Okay okay

<anal>

CPU is central processing unit. It's the chip that goes on the motherboard that does the bulk of the processing in your computer. It is NOT your comptuer. Your comptuer is called "your computer". Not CPU.

CPU = Athlon, Pentium, Pentium 4, Celeron. With usually Mhz rating to follow. :O

Athlon XP 1.4Ghz
Asus a7a DDR/SDR motherboard

Radeon 9100 card
Sound Blaster Live Value
12/10/32 AOpen CDRW drive
8X BTC DVD-Rom Drive
1 RTL8139 realtek based 10/100 ethernet adapter

AMD Duron 850
ECS mainboard (cheap and pretty unstable until it got a BIOS upgrade)
256 MB Ram
52x Cd-ROM
40 gig hard drive
Leadtek 32 megabyte Geforce 2 GTS video card
19" Cornerstone 45/101sf monitor
A cheap PCI I/O Magic sound card
Cable internet shared with klinky.

Not a bad machine. It does what I want.

ok thank you Klinky for the CompSci 101 ... but CPu is a general term peopel use for Computer ... and i forgot to mention my mother board, OS and speakers ...

My Mother board is some older Asus board, it's not listed on their web site any mroe so it's kinda outdated.

My OS is Windows 98 SX (no xp for me, i hate it)

and i used to have very good cheap pair of speakers, but my mom went balistic and took them away so i use head phones ... i gues si kidna got used to it.

Pentium III 997 MHz processor

504 MB of RAM

Normal keyboard

Trackball-mouse

NVidia GeForce 2 video card with no input/TV-output capabilities

On-board, standard sound card (dunno the name, but my mic support recently died, and I plan to get a new one, so I don't care).

IBM G70 Monitor that whines when left on for too long and will probably one day explode in my face.

DVD-R

CD-R/RW

3 1/2 Floppy drive (first thing to go if I ever get a second HD, I don't even use it. I use CD-RW's instead.)

Designer speaker (brand name, not a description)

Windows XP

And finally...

two plastic manta rays and a plastic otter taped on top of the monitor of dhum. Ya know, for color.

A most lovely mental image, Kthulhu. You have my permission to fly over here and clean up my melted eyeballs, now.
