Finding inner strength - Series or character suggestion?

Okay. I feel compelled to do something with a particular song. I tried a FF9 video ages ago, but long story short, it never panned out. No big loss there. But again I feel that I'd really like making a video with it. Problem is, no series are coming to mind yet. So I wondered if someone could point me toward some suggestions. (And hey, I could use a few new anime to stick on my to-rent or to-buy list.)

So. The theme is learning to find your own inner strength or resolve, standing up for what you believe instead of following along, things like that. I'm thinking it would best fit a female character, possibly someone who is too quiet and sweet at first and learns to stand up for herself, or something along those lines. Doesn't HAVE to be a girl, but the song is pretty feminine.

I don't want to post lyrics because I don't want to be too literal. But it's a relaxed, steady pace with a soothing tone to it, despite being kind of cynical (the narrator of the song basically smacks the subject around a little bit for giving up on herself. Tough love.

)

So does this sound like anything anyone knows? It'd have to be on DVD in the US, unless somebody wants to supply me with all of my source.

Any ideas are welcome - I don't have a very rigid idea yet. Just a push in the direction of a good series that could work with it. And as I said, maybe I'll just find something new to like.

As of right now, the only one I can think of is Shinobu from Love Hina. I'll see if I can't help you out later.

Spirited away immediately comes to mind. Chichiro basically is too quiet and shy to survive alone, but grows and finds her own "inner strength" to make it and save her parents.

up to hte female part basicaly any anime (Trigun and Kenshin) was going though my head. But since you said female. Griffith from Berserk seems to fit the bill.

Hmm, out of those I do like the Spirited Away one. And I think that is out now... Cool.

I'm sure there are eighteen million videos for it, but I meant to check that out anyway...

I'll look into the others too. ('cept maybe Shinobu - sorry. But I know it's been done before.)

I would agree Sen to Chihiro sounds like it fits fairly well. I think you'll find there are less videos to it than you may think... I can only think of two or three I know of off the top of my head.

Though I might get smacked for suggesting it, Sailor Moon would also probably have plenty of what you're looking for. Though Usagi comes to mind first, most of the other Senshi could also fit the bill (especially Ami). Another one (that I know a number of people don't like, ironically) would be Sakura from Sakura Taisen.

Yeah, Ami came to mind first, actually. But there are more SM AMVs than there are people on earth at this point, including one uber-famous one about precisely that subject. So. Can't do that.

About Sen to Chihiro... uh... what is it? :/ I need stuff that's been released here... I am so not the uber1337 AMVer with connections right to Japan who can get obscure series. :/

I'll put Sakura Taisen on the list too, though.
