Post by Propyro » Wed Apr 23, 2003 6:19 pm

WEEEEE! it finaly arrived! my Eva perfrect box set is sitting on my desk with the rest of my dvd's I ordered the bloody thing on march 10th from HMV ... i waited untill monday of this week, then i said screw this and went to Comic World and asked them to order it ... 2 days later ... it's here!

My question to you is what it the longest that you've waited for anime that's already been released and hypotheticaly should have been on the shelves when you walked into the store?

For me it was march 10 to april 23rd ... which is 6 weeks and 2 days ... Never again am i making a special order for anime from HMV ...

I waited over a month for buy.com to ship my fourth DVD from the Vision of Escaflowne. It was on back-order that entire time and I had to yell at them and threaten to cancel. Surprisingly after that threat, I got my DVD a few days later. Hmmm....

BTW for your sake and mine, I sure hope this Renewal in the States doesn't come true. Then again, I would like to have nice Eva source and deleted scenes...I guess we can both sell it on ebay. I actually made a profit when I sold my Escaflowne DVDs (so that I could buy the boxset). It's amazing how many people don't know about internet sales or well...remasters. Then again..they usually don't care and just want to watch.

atomic, you really need to start buying imports :)

If you have a switch or solo card you can get imports really easily. Check out my guide to buying anime in the uk:

http://www.ox.compsoc.net/~flend/anime/ ... index.html

It needs minor updates added to it (play.com being good for anime now and cdjapan getting import tax) but mainly the information is good.

Longest wait for an anime:

When my friend Neil was translating Macross Plus, he showed me the episodes in raw Japanese while translating what was being said. He showed me eps 1 - 3, but before 4 came out I had moved to California.

Then there was some legal complications which slowed up the release of Vol. 4.

I had to wait ONE YEAR from seeing the cliffhanger at the end of ep 3 until I was able to buy ep. 4

Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

oh man ... and i thought my 6 weeks was bad ... maybe you'd be best off if you started trusting e-commerce ... because it seems that the UK is anime impaired ...

We don't need anime in UK shops considering it's always cheaper to buy dvds form the states, canada or australia.
